Long exposure time lapse is one of my favourite things. But, I've been restricted a bit to it recently because I was shooting on the 6d and even with magic lantern it just didn't look great. Now, with the Canon 5d mark iv, it's really easy.
The Canon 5d mark iv has a built in intervalometer, and when you are in movie mode, it shoots time lapse video. In the vlog, I do a tutorial of that feature. And, the best part is that you can manipulate it to shoot long exposure time lapse.
In my opinion, time lapse is best at long exposures. It adds more movement to the video, and makes it look really good. I also found that there is absolutely no flicker at all on the 5d mark iv when I shoot it. Even the other day when I was shooting time lapse of the stars, it came out really cool. As you'll see in the tutorial, it's really easy to use.
Las Vegas was a fun place to shoot long exposure time lapse. The lights, the Vegas strip, and all the action just works so well. I also set out with the goal to get a really cool photo of the Las Vegas strip. I think I was successful.
Tomorrow on the photography channel, I'll be taking my Canon 5d mark iv and my time lapse skills to Zion National Park.
