Since I've done a little research, whey protein is not as bad as I thought it was. It is more about the ingredients combined with the whey protein that makes it bad for you. Here I will list a few that you need look out for and try to avoid if possible.
Soy is first on the list. You don't want it in any food or drinks. Unfermented soy leads to hormonal imbalance, disrupts the production of thyroid hormones, and reduces oxygen in red blood cells. Soy protein is highly refined, which damages your thyroid. Soy protein isolate is very cheap to make, and has a lot of negative side affects. Soy lecithin is very common, which causes mostly nausea and stomach aches.
Next is gluten, which contains a lot of inflammatory properties. A little bit won't hurt you in the long run.
Hydrogenated anything, which means it is heated at a high temperature, attributes to trans fats and is not good at all.
Avoid high amounts of sugar. Artificial sweeteners like aspartame, sucralose, and acesulfame should be avoided at all times.
