Check if your food is ready before it's too late! There's absolutely nothing worse than overcooked meat or under-cooked rice. When you're cooking, keep checking the meat to see if it's cooked. Cut the meat to check how firm it is. If you're unsure just slice it down the thickest part to double check. It's possible the cook the chicken a little more if it's a tad under. Its the same with pasta, once you're done straining it, taste before you add in the sauce. It's much easier to fix it separately. This applies to any other food.
