Backpacking The Pecos Wilderness -- A 4 night, 5 day adventure deep into the Pecos Wilderness (Santa Fe National Forest, New Mexico) with my good friend, Manzano Man from the "ManzanoMan Adventure" YouTube Channel.
Episode 2 of 5 -- Today, we are getting a nice, early start to the day.
We were camped about 1/2 mile from the Jack's Creek Trail junction but it was a quick 45 minute hike to get there. From there, it was about 3 miles to the lake. Elevation: 10,300 FT to Pecos Baldy Lake 11,500 FT (1,200 FT gain)
Once we got the the lake, we didn't waste any time setting up camp because subsequently, the entire area surrounding the basin was packed with people and there were more coming! I'm glad we were able to get such a choice site! Never have I ever seen Big Horn Sheep in the wild until today!!
