Betty, her husband, Rick, and their daughter, Chelsea, have dinner on the R. J. Corman Lexington Dinner Train. The dinner trip began in Lexington, KY, and traveled to Versailles, KY, and then back to Lexington, KY.

Along the way, we encountered some beautiful Kentucky scenery—mostly horse farms. It was a very pleasant two-and-one-half hour trip, from daylight (at 6:00 p.m.) until dusk (8:30 p.m.). We all sat at a fancy retro table setting, which already had appetizers of buttermilk biscuits, shaved country ham, a fresh strawberry half, apple butter, Kentucky-made cheese, and sesame crackers at our places. Rick ordered Caesar salad, sea bass, asparagus, and whipped Yukon gold potatoes. Chelsea ordered Golden Spike salad, pulled pork, succotash, and chow chow, all on a bed of whipped Yukon gold potatoes. I (Betty) ordered Golden Spike Salad, prime rib au jus with horseradish sauce, a baked potato and sugar snap peas. We all shared a basket of fresh yeast rolls. I ordered iced tea to drink, while Chelsea opted for Diet Coke, and Rick had water with lemon. When we finished our delicious entrees, we chose our desserts. Chelsea ordered Derby Pie, while Rick and I split the Choo-Choo for two. When the train reached Versailles, we sat for a few minutes, with me finishing up my coffee that I ordered with dessert, and then the train traveled back to Lexington, where we were returned back to the terminal and our parked car. It was a memorable ride and a lovely evening, which we all enjoyed very much. I hope you get an opportunity to ride this or another dinner train! Love, Betty ♥
