Bhindi Curry
Ingredients:
Sesame Seed Oil - 3 tsp
Okra (chopped) - 250 g
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
Red Chillies - 3
Urad Dal - 1 tsp
Curry Leaves - 1 Spring
Onions(chopped) - 1
Tomatoes(chopped) - 3
Turmeric - 1 Pinch
Red Chilli Powder - 2 tsp
Salt - As Required
Coriander Powder - 1 tsp
Tamarind Pulp - 2 tsp
Coconut Paste - ½ cup
Coriander Leaves - 1 Bunch
Method:
● Heat a pan add Sesame seed oil
● Add Chopped Okra
● Shallow Fry them and keep aside.
● In the same pan, add Mustard Seeds
● Add Cumin Seeds
● Add Red Chillies
● Add Curry Leaves
● Add Urad Dal
● Add Curry Leaves & Mix it well
● Add 1 Finely Chopped Onions
● Add 3 Finely Chopped Tomatoes
● Add a Pinch of Turmeric
● Add 2 tsp of Red Chilli Powder
● Add required amount of Salt
● Add a 1 tsp Coriander Powder &
● Mix it well
● Add 2 tsp of Tamarind pulp
● Add Water & cook for 7-8 minutes
● After getting desired consistency add Coconut paste
● Now add Fried Okra to the Gravy
● Finish it off with Coriander Leaves & Switch Off Flame
Tips
Pan Frying Okra in Oil reduces Stickiness Of Okra
Don’t cook for too long after adding Coconut paste
