Bandai publishes video games based on many popular cartoon and anime franchises imaginable, and Digimon is no exception. Digimon Rumble Arena is a 3D fighting game with two-dimensional gameplay, and it's often compared to Super Smash Brothers. The concept is simple: The game is a one-on-one fighter where you can unleash the attacks of set digimon from the three seasons of the show.

While their attacks are very limited initially, you can grab power-ups to use against your opponent or to screw yourself up, as well as Digivolve, which (under most circumstances) is a Digimon's time to shine. When a Digimon undergoes Digivolution, they become more powerful temporarily and can use more powerful attacks, including a deadly super move, so long as they aren't interrupted. The thing that makes this game fun is the interactivity with the levels and the level designs. Each level has a certain gimmick that makes it perilous, so you'll want to learn the levels and use its tricks to your advantage.

I wouldn't compare this to SSB (primarily due to the lack of a four-player mode, game crossovers and less varied items), but it's a fun game for Digimon fans and a decent game for folks who aren't fans...also, I intentionally used Renamon to show something else about the game...it wasn't super balanced either, but Renamon is one of the only people you will have to worry about (and Reapermon). Enjoy.
