We’ve got new details on Doctor Strange right now on Clevver News Feed. Marvel President Kevin Feige is sharing new info on what we can expect in next year’s Doctor Strange movie. Captain America: Civil War may be the Marvel movie that’s getting all the attention lately, but at a recent event celebrating the Blu-Ray release of Avengers: Age of Ultron, Marvel’s Kevin Feige opened up about what’s in store for the Sorcerer Supreme’s big screen debut. Speaking with IGN, Feige revealed that, despite rumors that the studio wasn’t interested in doing origin stories, next year’s release will in fact explore the origins of Stephen Strange explaining quote, “Doctor Strange has one of the best, most classic, most unique origin stories of any hero we have, so why wouldn't we do that? That was sort of always the plan. How you tell that origin, perhaps there are ways to twist it or play with that, but for the most part, it's a gift when the comics have something with such clarity of story and of character. That doesn't always happen in the comics, and when it does, you use it." As for which character will serve as the eyes of the audience to introduce us to the world of magic and sorcery, Feige explained that Rachel McAdams’ currently unknown character will take on that role to a certain extent and she plays a very big part in the film, but it will be Doctor Strange that we follow throughout the movie. As for whether or not the versatile Tilda Swinton will play Strange’s mentor, The Ancient One, as a man or woman, Feige explained that she will be a woman, but she will be very ambiguous in her portrayal explaining quote, “We get an amazing actress to play an amazing character, and do it in a way that’s very unique and doesn’t fall into any outdated stereotypes that sometimes pop up in the comics from years past.” Production on Doctor Strange is scheduled to begin next month for a November 4th, 2016 release. In addition to Benedict Cumberbatch in the title role, Rachel McAdams and Tilda Swinton, the film also stars Chiwetel Ejiofor as “Baron Mordo”. Hannibal star Mads Mikkelsen was previously rumored to have a role in the film, but recently stated that his involvement was just rumor at this point, but he would love to be part of the Marvel family. So, who’s excited for next year’s Doctor Strange and are you glad it will be an origin story?
