Double Apple Crumble

Ingredients:
A mixture of apples such as Gala, Braeburn, Granny Smith, Rome, etc. is best to use. Choose about 3 medium apples of one type, such as McIntosh, and 3 medium of another type, such as Fuji to make this dish.
FRUIT MIXTURE
6 cups of apples, peeled, thinly sliced (approximately 6 medium apples)
2 TBS. sugar
1 TBS. All purpose flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ginger
TOPPING
1/4 cup All purpose flour
1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ginger
2 TBS. margarine or butter

Directions: (For an 8 inch Camp Oven/Dutch Oven)
1. Prepare your coals, and spray an 8 inch oven with non-stick cooking spray. You will need to cook this dish at 400 degrees F.
2. In a large bowl, combine all fruit mixture ingredients; toss to coat. Spoon evenly into sprayed dutch oven, pressing gently.
3. In a medium bowl, combine all topping ingredients except butter; mix well.
With a pastry blender or fork, cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle evenly over fruit mixture.
4. Cover oven with lid and set-up your heat (coal count = 8 on the bottom and 10 on the top).
Bake at 400 F for about 20-25 minutes, or until apples are tender and topping is golden brown.
Makes about 6 servings
