Keeping your chest up, push your butt back, bend your knees just far enough to reach the barbell, and rotate your chest in the opposite direction of your feet. Grasp the barbell using a mixed grip, with the front hand assuming the underhand grip.
Without letting your chest cave forward, stand up with the bar.
Return to the starting position by again pushing your butt back and bending your knees until the plates rest on the floor. Keep your chest rotated forward throughout the movement.
Adjust your feet from this starting position so your leverage feels the strongest and both heels can remain planted.
