1. Wide base
Novak’s feet are much wider than shoulder with apart, and his upper body is very balanced. As a passionate and committed tennis player, you’ll need to develop great lower and upper body strength to consistently get on this position during practices and matches.
2. Split Step
Djokovic slightly jumps to his right to take away the wide serve. He loads his outside leg while keeping the racquet face closed. He uses the back to front footwork pattern, which involves taking big steps to cover more ground on the return.
3. Finish
In this specific return, Novak is out stretched and finishes with a mini buggy whip on his forehand. He keeps a wide base despite losing his balance a little bit.
Jeff also uncovers a great return of serve routine performed by Novak, as he shares valuable bonus tips on his court positioning and mindset approach.
