How To Stay Motivated With An Injury. Finding motivation when injured can be extremely challenging. it doesn't matter if you're a bodybuilder, powerlifter, or just someone who enjoys training, injuries happen. They even happen quite often outside of the gym and they can lead to feelings of hopelessness, depression and a severe loss of motivation and drive.

It's easy to get caught up thinking "why me" but you have to realize that you're not alone. Developing and building a healthy and positive attitude is crucial to your recovery.

I encourage people to treat their recovery the same way they do their training and take it seriously. You have to be willing to accept the restriction and keep yourself motivated. Think of it this way, with an injury you are going to feel a void or a hole in your day and it’s your responsibility to fill it. Sitting in bed all day upset is not going to make anything better.

Focus on what you can control, not what you can't.
