Junior Valcourt began his military career as an Army mechanic. From the day he enlisted we wanted to learn electrical trade skills. Through The Home Depot Foundation and Home Builder Institute’s Trades Training program, he was able to get hands-on training and gain an electrician position after graduating. The skills he gained in the program allowed for speedy advancement with his current employer.

With more than 400,000 skilled labor job openings, demand exceeding supply and many military men and women struggling to find their next role after leaving the service, The Home Depot Foundation pledged a commitment to train 20,000 tradespeople – just like Junior – to fill the industry pipeline by 2028.
