The Online Citizen published an article on Jan 16 about claims by Malaysian human rights group Lawyers for Liberty. It alleged, among other things, that Singapore prison officers must kick the back of a prisoner's neck to break it, if the rope snaps during a hanging. Home Affairs Minister K Shanmugam has rejected an application by TOC to cancel a correction direction issued to it on Jan 22 for that article.
