When Tina and Tim adopted their son, Evan, 10 years ago, they knew he had had a traumatic upbringing and had been neglected and abused. However, they say they didn’t know the extent of the trauma he endured.

Tina says an event occurred eight years ago when Evan was left alone in the car with his baby brother at the time that she says she has never been able to forgive Evan for.

“A defining moment in our whole family was when Evan injured one of our younger sons,” Tina says. “The situation showed me what he was capable of, and that was incredibly scary.”
