How to replace the screen on your LG E960 Google Nexus 4. This video includes narration and will demonstrate how to take apart your Nexus 4 to replace the screen. You can also replace other modular parts after the phone is taken apart.

This is a relatively easy repair for anyone who has some mechanical experience. There are a couple of different options as far as replacing this screen. You can purchase just the display and use your existing mid-frame or you can get the pre-assembled type which already has the display attached to a new frame. The advantage to doing it this way is that you end up with a brand new bezel so if your Nexus 4 was a little beat up then everything will look like new with the exception of the back panel which can also be replaced if desired. It is easier to do it this way as well and doesn't cost much more than just purchasing the display without a housing.

If you do choose to keep your old mid-frame you can remove the old display pretty easily as most of the adhesive used to hold it together is located around the perimeter of the lens. The lights for the buttons at the bottom are slightly recessed so the chances of damaging them is minimal. Still, you should always exercise caution when prying the old display out of the housing.

User Spencer McClendon adds: When moving the power and volume buttons over, BE GENTLE on the gold connectors. I over squeezed my power buttons and couldn't get the device to turn back on. All is good though!
