Pryaniki are Russian Honey spiced cookies that are similar in texture to a honey jumble and are commonly made for festive occasions. These small biscuits are a moorish treat to accompany a warm cup of tea or coffee. Pryaniki go back for centuries in the traditional Russian kitchen. You will find them on the shelves of all Russian stores. The flavor is with coffee, honey and speckled through perfectly with spices – cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg and allspice. This recipe makes around 40-50 cookies!

1/4 cup hot water
125 gr OR 1/2 cup butter
125 gr OR 1/2 cup sugar
125 gr OR 1/2 cups honey ( you can use any honey you like)
1 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 teaspoon allspice
1-2 tbsp instant coffee ( add more if you like coffee flavour) you can replace with cocoa powder
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ginger
1/4 teaspoon grated nutmeg
1 egg
1/2 teaspoons baking soda dissolved in 1 teaspoon white vinegar
1/2 teaspoons baking powder
420 gr OR 3 1/2 cups plain flour

250 gr OR 2 cups icing sugar
1/4 cup milk

Step 1 : In a medium saucepan, dissolve the instant coffee in the water.Add the sugar, butter and honey in the saucepan.
Step 2 : Bring the mixture to a boil on medium heat and cook, stirring, just until the butter melts and the sugar dissolves and the mixture is homogenous. Leave aside to cool down for 10 min.
Step 3 : Place the mixture into a large bowl, add all the spices and vanilla extract.
Step 4 : Add your egg mix it all well and then add the baking soda dissolved in vinegar. You will notice that the mixture will fizz a little when it’s all mixed up.
Step 5 : Add the flour and mix with a large wooden spoon until all the flour is incorporated.
Step 6 : Cover the batter with clingfilm with plastic wrap or a kitchen towel and set aside at room temperature for 1 hours.
Step 7 : Take 1 tbsp of mixture and roll out the cookies. Place them onto a parchment paper.
Step 8 : Bake for 20-25 minutes at 170 C / 325 F. Do not over bake, or the cookies will be too hard.
Step 9 : While cookies are cooling down, make your glaze. In a bowl, add your icing sugar and milk and mix. You can add different extracts to it like almond, mint or vanilla.
Step 10 : Brush each cookie with a glaze, or you can dip the cookies into the glaze, letting the excess run off. Set the glazed cookies on a rack or parchment paper to dry.
Step 11 : When the glaze is dry, you can flip the cookies over and glaze the other side as well. I usually only do one side of the cookies, but traditionally, Pryaniki are glazed on both sides.

Очень мягкие, ароматные прянички с ярко выраженным медово- вкусом. Пряники - одно из древнейших русских лакомств. Слово "пряники" происходит от слова "пряности", наличие которых в этих изделиях является характерной их особенностью. Это самый простой рецепт пряников, приготовление не занимает много времени, а результат получается. К Рождеству во многих странах готовятся, пекут душистые мягкие пряники.Домашние пряники гораздо вкуснее магазинных пряников.

Ингредиенты :

1/4 стакана горячей воды
125 гр сливочного масла
125 гр сахара
125 гр меда (можно использовать любой мед )
1 ч.л. ванильного экстракта
1-2 столовые ложки растворимого кофе ( добавить больше, если вам нравится вкус кофе )
1 чайная ложка Ложкa корицы
1 чайная ложка имбиря
1/4 чайной ложки тертого мускатного ореха
1 яйцо
1/2 чайные ложки соды растворяют в 1 ч. л. уксуса
1/2 чайные ложки разрыхлителя
420 гр муки

Глазурь :
250 гр сахарной пудры
1/4 стакана молока
