One of the first PSP games and still one of the best, this PSP Ridge Racer rendition is one of the few PSP games I currently own that I can honestly say I love, and with steep competition within my personal collection from a variety of games like "Gods Eater Burst", "Trails in the Sky", "Metal Slug XX", "Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness" and more, that's saying something. The game combines elements from the many games within the Ridge/Rage universe as well as adds quite a bit of exclusive new content and rewarding features. Of course, the game also looks and sounds phenomenal for a PSP game, especially one so early, and is one of the few 3D PSP games to move at a blistering 60FPS. A sequel was released for the PSP simply called "Ridge Racer 2" (that was not released in the U.S., thanks Namco Bandai Games), but was met with significantly less praise.
Featuring over twenty courses, thirty tunes (New, Classic, and Remixed), and over 50 different vehicles, this game exploded onto the PSP in a way few system launch titles can with plenty of content and portable fun. The game also incorporates nitro boosts and easier drifting than in past RR games and is easier for racing novices to pick up and play. This is a simple video showing the game in action. Enjoy.
