After honing her client-relationship skills in the corporate world, Sarah Broderick decided to embrace her innate creativity and make a splash in the design world. "Friends and family were constantly seeking my design advice, and I realized I was spending all of my time in furniture stores and poring over design mags," she says. "I was helping people who couldn't stand the process, but I loved—and continue to love—every minute of it!" Soon afterwards, Sarah founded High Street Design, where her mission is to personalize homes and improve the quality of living environments.

So what goes into an ideal space? "It should reflect the person living there and tell their story," she says. "And it should be stylish without costing a fortune." It might sound like a tall order, but she loves the challenge. "It's not uncommon for me to lie awake at night brainstorming ideas after meeting a client and seeing their space for the first time," she says. "I'm a very visual person, and it's like dreaming about design without the sleep." And when she needs a break, there's always the cottage. "No matter where I go in the world, it will always be one of my favourite places!"
